Welcome to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School’s website.
As principal of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our website.
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School is a Mercy School with a long and rich history closely connected to our Parish and local community. We constantly strive to live by our Mercy values- Pono (Truth), Tika (Justice) and Aroha (Compassion).
We are committed to our school’s vision: Together, ignite a passion for limitless learning navigated by Catholic values. Our Catholic Character permeates everything we do.
At our school, we see ourselves as learners and we learn from each other and we learn many things from children every day.
We, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School pride ourselves on providing a high quality educational programme that meets the needs of the child. We believe in children having pride in themselves, their families and their school.
We are developing a future-focused school and children are at the centre of all decision making. We place strong emphasis on positive, learning focused, Christ-centred relationships by working with parents, families, whanau and Parish community, enabling all children to use his/her God-given talents in everything they do. I believe that parents are the first educators of their children. At school, we build on the foundations that have been laid down in the children’s early years by their parents. Through partnership we continue to enhance and strengthen the success of all children at our school. Our open-door policy allows us to strengthen the partnership with you.
I firmly believe that a strongly led school is strongly led by many. I know that with the excellent staff, dedicated PTFA and a very capable Board of Trustees we have at our school, we have the ability to ensure that your child achieves the very best in a Christ-centred environment.
If you are interested in enrolling your child in our school, I recommend you do so well in advance.
We hope that all the information you require is on our website, if you cannot find something please contact the school. I hope to welcome you in person to our great school, and look forward to getting to know you and your child.
Ka manaakitia te Atua God bless!
